Full of Surprises...

Whilst the main focus of our business continues to revolve around architectural antiques, clients are often surprised to find that we sell other antiques.

I have a love of antique and vintage luggage, and can often be found rooting around fairs for sorry looking pieces that have been left to gather dust and damp.  In the rare moments that I have a spare hour or two I am normally to be found with leather restorer in my hands working on a piece of luggage.

I love the versatility of old cases, trunks and bags, and have sold them for a variety of uses including chic under-bed storage, shop window displays, stacks that provide a finishing touch to an antique room, and for their real purpose - travel.

I can no longer take a holiday without using vintage luggage to carry my clothes and cosmetics.  Using a holdall or modern-day case just does not feel right.

Here are just a few examples of the vintage luggage pieces currently in stock.  I'm always happy to discuss your requirements for vintage bags and luggage.  Please visit our website www.wishlistantiques.co.uk for our contact details.

Our Next Event

We will be back at Arthur Swallow's Antique Fair at Lincolnshire Showground next week following an absence from the fair whilst we were busy with international auctions.  You can find us in private marquee 68 and we will have a variety of architectural antiques and antique furniture for sale.  Here's a sneak preview of some of the great antiques you'll find on our stand.  Hope to see you there!

Architectural Antiques - More Than Just a Statue!

Whilst many see architectural antiques as predominantly items for the garden, our collection includes many interior pieces such as marble busts, chimney pieces and stoves, marble and stone columns, tiles and tile panels, cast iron signs and miniatures ideal for display.  Our runners bring many unusual and quirky items to us including a more recent selection of vintage hide tubs that were once used for storing bobbins and quills in Mills.

The Diversity of Architectural Antiques

We are very diverse in the range of stock we hold.  That's architectural antiques for you - it is vast and covers both interior and exterior pieces.  From cast iron stoves and fire surrounds to statues and water features through to smaller items including encaustic floor tiles and antique plant pots, our collection is a veritable treasure trove of collectibles for the home and garden.

We exhibit regularly at a variety of trade shows and fairs, and are well known for our outstanding displays.  We like to stand out from the crowd, and spend time and effort creating fantastic displays that attract many  'oohs' and 'ahhs' from visitors.

We maintain the same standards at our business.  The eight acres of gardens, woodland and water we are fortunate to have around us provide fabulous backdrops for the range of architectural antiques we stock.

Here are just a few pictures of those displays.

Sunbury Antiques Market

We will be attending Sunbury's next Antiques Market at Kempton Race Course on Tuesday 13th July, and will have for sale many smaller items that form part of our collection which are not currently available through our website.  This will include a range of antique hide tubs formerly used in mills to store bobbins, a fabulous gentleman's travelling case manufactured by John Pound, London, complete with hallmarked accessories and circa 1920, and a rare trickle glazed inkwell with pounce pot.  We hope to see you there.
